Early voting dates

Early voting takes place in person before Election Day. You do not need an excuse to vote early: if your state offers early voting, you can simply choose to take advantage of it. If you have any question about early voting, please contact your local election office.

You must show a current government-issued photo ID when you vote. Acceptable photo IDs include:

  • Arizona driver's license or non-operating ID card issued by the Arizona Department of Transportation
  • US passport or passport card
  • Tribal ID with a photo
  • Military ID with a photo
  • Any photo ID issued by the state of Arizona, the federal government, or another state

Alternatively, you can show 2 official documents containing your name and address. Acceptable documents include a current utility bill, current bank statement (within 90 days of the election), Indian census card, a property tax statement, or current Arizona vehicle registration.

Iowa

You must show a current government-issued photo ID when you vote.

Acceptable photo IDs include:

  • Iowa driver's license or non-operator ID card issued by the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). This ID must be current or expired within the last 90 days.
  • US passport or passport card
  • Veteran ID
  • Tribal ID

If your photo ID does not show your current address, you must also bring a document that shows your name and address, such as a utility bill, lease, bank statement, paycheck, or any government document that shows your name and address and is current within 45 days.

If you do not have an ID, another registered voter may sign a form confirming your identity or you may show your Election Day Registration documents.

Acceptable IDs include:

  • North Dakota driver’s license or non-driver ID issued by the North Dakota Department of Transportation
  • Tribal ID or Tribal letter
  • Long Term Care Certificate issued by a facility in ND

If your ID does not include the required information or the information is not current, you may show your ID alongside a document with the required or updated information. Supplemental documentation that will be accepted includes a current bank statement or utility bill, paycheck or pay stub, and government check.

The ID must be current or be expired no more than 2 years from the issue date. If the ID is expired, the voter must also prove current enrollment.
